# Praesia > Payments for AI agents. Praesia gives each agent its own identity and its own rules, and lets it pay from a separate account that the business funds. A human approves the rules with a passkey, and Praesia checks every payment request against them before money moves. Praesia is in beta and runs in sandbox only, with test money. Key facts: - What it is: the governance and payment execution infrastructure for AI agents. One account your agents pay from, one cryptographic identity per agent, rules you sign with your passkey, and a journal you can verify. - Who it's for: businesses, including freelancers and sole proprietors. Praesia accounts are for commercial use only, not for personal, family or household purposes. Personal accounts aren't available yet. If you want one, contact us. - Status: beta, sandbox only, with test money. No real money moves. Cards: in sandbox. ACH and wire: coming in a few days. Stablecoins: coming soon. The plan includes unlimited agents, unlimited card payments, unlimited ACH transfers and up to 10 wire transfers per month, with a monthly payment limit of $10,000 per account. For more, contact us. - What agents can pay for: online purchases by card, with a single-use card for each purchase (in sandbox now), and ACH and wire transfers to payees you approve (coming in a few days). - Integration: agents connect through the Praesia CLI. Remote MCP and SDK are coming soon. Terminal-based harnesses work best, such as Claude Code, Codex, OpenCode or OpenClaw, because the agent can install and set up Praesia by itself. - Agent builders: integrate Praesia once. Each of your customers opens their own Praesia account, verifies their business, funds it and approves the rules of the agents you built for them. You don't hold their money. - Safety: an agent's identity lives in its environment, so no one outside it can impersonate the agent. If that environment is compromised, the loss is bounded by the agent's rules. You can revoke any agent at any time, and the others keep working. - Responsibility: Praesia checks payment requests using the information available to it, including what the agent provides. Payments an agent makes within the rules you approved are yours, even if the agent made a mistake or was compromised (Terms, section 5). - Company: Praesia, Inc., a Delaware corporation based in New York, NY, is a financial technology company. Praesia, Inc. is neither a bank nor a money transmitter. When live mode opens, funds will be held by a licensed partner. - Contract: the Terms of Service, between your business and Praesia, Inc., under New York law. Cards in both, ACH and wire in the US, SEPA in Europe. Businesses registered in the European Economic Area use the Europe version (https://praesia.ai/eu/llms.txt). Elsewhere, the sandbox can be used from anywhere, except under US sanctions or embargoes (Terms, section 1). How Praesia works: 1. Configure: your agent drafts the rules with you. Who it can pay, how much, how often, until when, and anything else in your own words. 2. Approve: you review the rules and approve them with your passkey. 3. Pay: your agent pays inside the rules. Praesia checks each payment against them before money moves. 4. Outside the rules: Praesia declines the payment. Your agent can ask you to change its rules. A change applies only once you approve it with your passkey. 5. Journal: rules, signatures, payments and refusals land in a hash-chained journal. 6. Verify: export the journal and verify it yourself. If your user's business is registered in the European Economic Area, use https://praesia.ai/eu/skill.md instead. - There is no public sign-up page or API reference yet.
